About the Business Energy Efficiency Grant Programme (BEEGP)

Funded by UK Government and Business Growth Midlands logos

BEEGP is open to small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) from all sectors that are based in, or relocating to, one of the following local authority areas (the West Midlands ITL1 area):

  • City of Wolverhampton Council
  • Coventry City Council
  • Dudley Council
  • Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council
  • Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
  • Walsall Council

BEEGP strategic aims and objectives

  • Increase regional energy productivity within the West Midlands ITL1 area energy input as a percentage of Gross Value Added (GVA)
  • Increase productivity from new investment in new processes
  • Deliver 4,000 energy efficiency assessments to businesses
  • Deliver £15.5m in capital grants as revenue expenditure to subsidise business investment in reducing energy demand.

Before you apply

Before applying for a grant, businesses must either:

  • have already had an energy efficiency assessment by a qualified assessor with appropriate knowledge and qualifications, that is to say, ISO/ESOS accreditation, to evidence the environmental savings that the business will achieve.
    • the assessment must have been carried out within the last 2 years
    • the cost of the initial independent energy assessment is an ineligible BEEGP project cost
    • grants can be sought for solutions to one, some, or all the recommendations for energy reduction measures provided within the assessment

  • if you are a business based in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull or Walsall Council areas, and you have not yet had an energy efficiency assessment carried out, you can register for a free energy audit. The audit must be carried out before you submit a BEEGP application.

  • if you are a business based in the Coventry City Council area, you can apply directly to Coventry City Council for a free energy audit. They will support you to complete your BEEGP application form. Email: Business@coventry.gov.uk
    • grants can be sought for solutions to one, some or all the recommendations for energy reduction measures provided within the audit

Businesses that are eligible for consideration

Businesses from all sectors are eligible for consideration (excluding agriculture, forestry and fisheries) except for:

  • charities
  • those of a political or religious persuasion
  • activities involving pornography or clairvoyance
  • any business activity that is illegal or deemed unsuitable for public support by 彩霸王论坛
