We currently have 2 grant opportunities open which are funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

East Birmingham Pocket Parks Project

Application deadline: 5:00pm on Wednesday 4 September 2024

Along with the National Trust, we are inviting community groups in East Birmingham to participate in the Pocket Parks project. The project is running from September 2024 to the end of March 2025.

We will work with organisations in four locations to transform small plots of underused land into community green spaces, involving local people in the process of designing and creating these pocket parks.

Participating groups will each receive a £5,000 grant to support their involvement in the project and future care of the pocket park.

We are seeking expressions of interest from groups who have identified a suitable piece of land for a pocket park and want to collaborate with us and the National Trust on the project delivery.

We are seeking proposals in the following wards:

  • Nechells
  • Bordesley and Highgate
  • Sparkbrook and Balsall Heath East
  • Tyseley and Hay Mills

After the project, the lead community group will take on responsibility for future stewardship and maintenance of the pocket park.

Coalition for Impact

The application deadline has been extended: Midday on Wednesday 11 September 2024.

Along with Loconomy, we have opened the second call for community anchor organisations (who have not benefited from Ready to Level grants before) to take part in the Coalition for Impact Programme.

The aim of the Coalition for Impact is to form a network of local organisations working in partnership with the council’s East Birmingham Team and our strategic partners to deliver the objectives of the East Birmingham Inclusive Growth Programme.

We will select 9 organisations from East Birmingham to receive a £16,000 grant award each.

If you want to apply as a consortium of two or three organisations, you must:

  • decide who will be the lead applicant with the full financial responsibility for the grant
  • demonstrate how you will share the grant across the organisations with a detailed budget breakdown
  • demonstrate the added value achieved by working jointly
