Arts, culture, and health yearly review - 2022 to 2023

During 2022 to 2023, 彩霸王论坛 Public Health continued to develop its work focused on addressing intersectional health inequalities through arts and health, and building better evidence for this at a local level.

We commissioned an array of projects for the arts, culture and health programme, notably a series of activities with the Jamaican community to celebrate Jamaica’s 60th Year of Independence. These activities focused on raising awareness and health literacy in the following five focus areas of health:

  • pregnancy
  • mental health
  • musculoskeletal disease
  • cardiovascular disease
  • diabetes.

At the same time, we held a series of live cooking demonstrations and community festivals to celebrate the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth games and the cultural and ethnic diversity in Birmingham.

This model was built upon and tailored towards projects focusing on the rise in the cost of living.

The 2022 to 2023 yearly review was essential to informing the development of our programme of activity for 2023 to 2024, and in the development of our formal creative public health workstream.
