How we monitor the performance of our adult social care services

We monitor how well our adult social care services are performing in several ways:

  1. Against targets that we set ourselves, including those in:
    1. Council Plan
  2. Against national standards set by others, including:
    1. The Department of Health’s (ASCOF)
    2. (CQC) inspections
    3. The sector led improvement work of the (ADASS)
  3. Against local standards set by others, including:
    1. Birmingham’s Health and Wellbeing Board
    2. , which monitors how well we’re protecting vulnerable adults thought to be at risk of abuse, neglect and discrimination.
    3. Health and Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee
    4. The (HCPC)
  4. Through feedback from Birmingham’s citizens, service users and carers, including:
    1. Comments, complaints and feedback to the Council
    2. People for Public Services Forum
